Buddys Dog Joke-Momma's Letter to Me

Are yall ready for another dog joke? This is a letter to me from Momma. It's funny but I don't know, should I be insulted?

Letter to Buddy

Dear Buddy,

When I say to move, it means go someplace else, not to switch places with one of the other dogs so there are still two of you in the way.

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king size bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs and cats sleeping. They can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. (I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing but sarcasm.)

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, howl, try to turn the knob, or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. In addition, I have been using the bathroom for years…canine attendance is not mandatory.

The proper order is to kiss me, then go smell the other dog's butt. I cannot stress this enough. It would be such a simple change for you.

A Dog Tip from Harley

Wednesday's Dog Tip!

I know on Wednesday's I usually do the dog news. And you may have noticed we have skipped the last few Wednesdays. The problem is, I need Momma's help to write this blog. My paws just don't work the keys on the keyboard too well. And Momma gets sad when she keeps reading about sad dog news. So she just hasn't wanted to help me write my posts.

I feel like I'm getting cheated of my 15 minutes of fame me getting to tell you some interesting information. So I came up with a new idea. I pitched it to Momma and she liked the idea. So, Yay! I'm back! I'm going to give you doggies and your human parents a weekly dog tip. We have lots of those. We have even toyed with the idea of starting a site or blog that has nothing but dog tips. But for now, we will give you a dog tip each week. Does that sound good?

This week's tip:

If your dog has a problem with gas, give him a ginger snap before feeding him. The ginger root will help calm his digestive tract.

The World of Dog Harnesses-Roxie's Fashion Update

This week Momma and I have been looking at walking harnesses. Some of us doggies here ( I won't mention any names) tend to slip out of our collars when we go for walks. So Momma thought maybe she would get each of us a walking harness. You can click on any of the pictures to learn more about the harness.

I like these because they are soft and comfortable. Of course, I would get pink. I just wish they had patterns!

 

Now these are more like it! Look at the pretty patterns! I could really go for that floral dog harness!

These are kind of cute too with the colorful trim. Hmmm, I still like the floral one the best. What do you think?

Ok, I was totally confused why someone would want a harness on their nether regions! I asked Momma and she wasn't sure either.

Then we saw this one and finally understood. It's to help old dogs that have a hard time stepping up. This way you can help your old dog friend up with a minimum of pain for him or her. What will they think of next?

So I have decided which one I want. The floral dog harness of course. Now I have to check with the other dogs and see which ones they want.

   I love my dog Tiki. She's a great dog, except for one little problem. She eats my shoes! Sometimes, I can still be wearing them! How do I break her of this?

Dear Samantha,

  Chewing shoes is a common, and expensive problem. You didn't say how old Tiki is. If she is under 18 months old, she may be still teething and she needs to chew. You should make sure she has lots of chewing toys around. We bloggy doggies like our kongs.  Momma fills them with peanut butter. Here's what they look like:

For young puppies, Momma likes to give this nylabone to them to chew on:

Keep your shoes away from Tiki to avoid temptation. Never give her an old shoe for her to chew on as this will confuse her.

If you catch Tiki chewing on a shoe, make a lound noise and give her one of her chew toys instead. Praise her when she chews on the toy instead.

You can also spray your shoes with a non toxic spray called Bitter Yuck. Another popular brand is called Bitter Apple. They make things taste bad without harming the object that was sprayed, or the dog.

 

Be patient and remember, she will eventually outgrow the obsessive chewing phase.

Two women who are dog owners are arguing over which dog is smarter:

First woman: My dog is so smart. Every morning he waits for a paperboy to come around, and then he takes a newspaper and brings it to me.

Second woman: I know.

First one: How?

Second one: My dog told me.

3 Great Dog Sites for Share it Thursday

So, this week I have 3 great dog sites for ya!  The first one isn't a pet site per se but you can tell they love animals! The name of this site is BisketBaskets.com and they have really cool gift baskets including a line just for dogs! 

The next one is The Dog Guide and this is a wonderful site with loads of info on dogs. My favorite feature is their Dog Photo of the Day .

Meet Moss, a Senior Male Beagle

Look at that face! Who could not fall in lov with such a cute boy? If I lived closer, I'd be taking this little guy home for sure!

Moss is an exceptional dog! He is a senior Beagle that just loves being at our shelter (I guess he never had it so good!). Moss is very sweet and calm and would make anyone a nice companion.

Moss is up-to-date with routine shots and neutered.

Basic Rules for Dogs – Part II

DOORS: The area directly in front of a door is always reserved for the family dog to sleep.

THE ART OF SNIFFING: Humans like to be sniffed – Everywhere. It is your duty, as the family dog, to accommodate them.

DINING ETIQUETTE: Always sit under the table at dinner, especially when there are guests, so you can clean up any food that falls on the floor. It's also a good time to practice your sniffing.

HOUSEBREAKING: Housebreaking is very important to humans, so break as much of the house as possible.

GOING FOR WALKS: Rules of the road: When out for a walk with your master or mistress, never go to the bathroom on your own lawn.

COUCHES: It is perfectly permissible to lie on the new couch after all your humans have gone to bed.

PLAYING: If you lose your footing while chasing a ball or stick, use the flower bed to absorb your fall so you don't injure yourself.
