The Beagle and the Pill

The other day, a lady told me this story: " My husband and I raised several beagles and our problem was getting them to swallow pills. It was a struggle pushing the pill down the throat, holding the jaws together and rubbing the throat until they swallowed as the vet said to do.

One evening, we sat looking at a pill the size of a giant black olive, rubbery and full of liquid, that the vet had given us for Bugler who seemed to be waiting for us to try.

"No way," my husband said & pitched the pill to me. I missed the catch, it bounced on the floor, the dog pounced on it and downed it one gulp.

Ok, that trick would never work on me! I'm too smart for that. But you know beagles…. Anyway, I thought the story was funny.

Hey guess what? I got a new toy! Momma Cathy got a card in the mail from PetSmart saying I could have a free toy in honor of my birthday, with a $15 purchase. So she bought our dog food there and came home with a new toy. It's a soccer ball with a rope attached so me and Roxy can play tug of war with it!
