Product Review: Shoo Tags, A New Way to Control Fleas

When I was contacted by Charlie from TheSafePetShop.com and asked if I would like to try a different kind of flea control on the Bloggy Doggies, I was intrigued. I only know of several ways to control fleas, and to tell you the truth, not much works on my dogs anymore. I quit using the once a month flea products like Advantage and Frontline because of the poor results. They work for awhile but then become ineffective. I figure the fleas must be getting immune to these products.
Anyway, Charlie explained about Shoo Tags. These are little tags that look like mini credit cards and hang from the dog's collar. They are non-toxic. Apparently they work by using electromagnetic frequencies to create a protective barrier that lasts for about 4 months. There are no chemicals which I love. I always felt uneasy about putting poison on my dogs.

Now I needed to test them to see if they actually worked. I was afraid it might be too early for flea season to give it a proper test. After talking to my vet, he said flea season has been in full force in our area since early March. My mother's dog was having horrible problems with them (and he was on one of those monthly meds) as were some of my neighbors with pets.
I have been checking daily on each of my 4 dogs and so far. not a single flea on any of them! They have not used them for a full 4 months yet but based on having the dogs using them for a month, I am totally sold on them! I will continue to buy these and TheSafePetShop.com has a permanent place in my bookmarks.

If you read the companies website, it is obvious that this is nothing but snake oil – there is no science to back it up, and the explanation on their "science" page is bulls**t.
I've emailed the company and their response was no better. In fact, they agreed with my suggestion that hanging a quartz crystal around your dog's neck could probably work as well. (If you believe in the magic of quartz crystals, I can't really help you here…)
Don't waste your money on this.
