Little Fanticos Soccer Dog Jerseys
Recently I got the chance to check out these cool little dog jerseys. I was sent one for review from Little Fanaticos. It was too small for any of my dogs but I got a chance to look at the quality of the jersey. I have to say it was very well made! They look like they would last quite a long time even with dogs who tend to be rough on their clothing.
If you are a soccer fan, one of these would look adorable on your dog. They have one for USA like the one pictured above, and also have jerseys for France, Germany, Brazil, and England.
They also carry dog jackets but only for the countries of Italy and Mexico. And they carry a dog gift basket that looks quite cute.
The only real drawbacks I can see is I wish they had a USA jacket and also had sizes for medium-large to large dogs so my pups could get one. The sizes are Teacup which fits the teacup breeds, XX-Small which fits a Yorkie or Brussels Griffon, X-Small will fit a Jack Russell or a Fox Terrier, Small will fit a Shih Tzu or a Miniature Poodle, and Medium will fit a Lhasa Apso or a Miniature Schnauzer.
You can check out the website at http://www.soccerdogjerseys.com
Now here's the good part. The folks at Little Fanaticos have graciously offered one of our readers a chance to WIN a dog jersey for their own dog! Just leave a comment saying you would like to win one and I'll pick a reader at random. So be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win!
Dog Product Review-Nootie Shampoo and Spritz Duo
February 18, 2010 by doggymom

Time for another product review. I recvently had the pleasure to try a product with an interesting concept from Nootie. They have a line of moisturizing dog shampoos and spritzs to make your dog smell wonderful. Now, first in the interest of Big Brother, let me claim my FTC disclosure that the only compensation I got for this review was the product itself to try.
Ok, with that out of the way, when I first opened the package, it took me a few seconds to figure out how to open this combo thingie. As you can see in the picture, the Spritz (doggy cologne) is in the bottom part and the shampoo is in the top. The scent of the Spritz was a little stronger than the scent in the shampoo but both were wonderful. Sara (the Nootie sweetie who sent me the product to try) must have read my mind. She sent my very favorite scent of vanilla. I have vanilla scented perfume and body wash (for me) & vanilla candles and room sprays. So of course it makes sense to have vanilla scented dogs too, right? Actually to clarify this scent is Warm Vanilla Cookie. Even better!
I decided to bathe Harley since she is the smelliest of my 4 dogs. She has "skin issues." Here is a picture of Harley getting bathes in the sink. Doesn't she look thrilled? Actually she is such a good girl to bathe. She just sits there and lets me wash her without squirming.
The shampoo touts itself as being moisturizing with sweet almond oil and Vitamin E. Lord knows Harley's skin and hair needs some moisturizing. I gave her a bath in it and she smelled wonderful. I decided not to use the spritz on her until the shampoo smell wore off. Here's a picture of Harley once she was dry. Her hair did look shinier and her skin wasn't nearly as flakey.
The vanilla scent lasted all the next day but 2 days after her bath, I couldn't smell it anymore so I sprayed her with the Spritz. This stuff is wonderful! Long lasting and smells delicious! Can I make a confession here? I actually tried it on me! Like I said I love vanilla!
So although this stuff is a little on the pricey side, I definitely recommend Nootie Shampoo/Spritz. You get what you pay for. The only thing I would like to be different is to have a larger Spritz bottle with more of the dog cologne in it. But to be honest, that's probably because I want to use it on me too!
They have 3 more scents besides the Warm Vanilla Cookie including another vanilla, Sweet Pea Vanilla. Also Japanese Cherry Blossom, and Cucumber Melon. You can click on any of the links above or go to www.Nootie.com to check out them out and to order for your dog.
Dog Product Review-Ripples Dog Treats

Ripples Dog Treats
We recently got the opportunity to try out Ripples dog treats. The Bloggy Doggies were up to the challenge!
The treats (we call them chewies), come in chicken and mint. The mint is supposed to freshen dogs' breath. They are all natural and made to be very healthy for your dog.
We were given 4 treats to try, 1 chicken and 3 mint. I let the dogs smell them, and they were all interested in the chicken. Of course I only had 1 chicken. So I had the dogs do a trick (roll over) and gave the first dog who did the trick the chicken chewie.
Joey is very food motivated so he got the chicken treat. He took it down to his hiding place (under my desk in my office) and immediately devoured it.
So, now I had 3 mint Ripples treats. Would the other 3 dogs eat them? I gave Harley hers and she went to her bed with it. She held on to it for awhile but did finally eat it.
Buddy dropped his and went out through the doggy door but came in a few minutes later and ate the treat.
Roxy played with hers for awhile but did eat it after a few minutes.
So the chicken was the preferred treat but they did eat the mint too. The dogs who ate the mint did have nice fresh breath.
You can go to Good Pet Stuff Company http://www.goodpetstuff.com/ to learn more about Ripples dog treats but you can't buy them there. You can buy them at PetSmart, Drs Foster and Smith and several other great pet stores listed on their site. We plan on getting another bag next time we are in PetSmart (chicken of course!).
Product Review-KaChewkee Wrapper

So what is a KaChewkee Wrapper?
If you are like me, you are probably wondering what a KaChewkee Wrapper is and why would I want one for my dog.
Catherine from Fido's Functional Fashion makes these little gems. They are for dogs who tend to gobble their treats too fast. This little device is wrapped around the treat, and the dog has to work at getting it off to get to the treat. It teaches your pup a little patience.
The picture on the left shows a KaChewkee in the process of being wrapped around a dog treat. To the right is a sweet little dog (looks a little like our Joey, doesn't it?) getting ready to enjoy his KaChewkee.
These come in 4 colors and 3 sizes. They are machine washable and made of natural fibers.
I have 4 dogs who are relatively well behaved when it comes to snack time. I do make them all sit or roll over before they get a treat. Joey does get excited and finds it hard to sit but he will…to get his treat. When it comes to actually eating the treat, Buddy has a problem with gobbling the treat really quickly. But I think it may because he is so big and the treats I buy are relatively small (to fit the smaller dogs' mouths).
I tried it with Joey first and he loved playing with it. Joey is very smart (he does Monday's dog advice column after all) and he seemed to think this was a challenge for him to figure out.
Harley seemed confused by it at first but eventually figured it out and got the treat out in about 30 minutes.
Roxy quickly figured it out but then she's part Border Collie.
Buddy was the problem child. He tried to swallow the whole thing including the KaChewkee wrapper! I had to pull it out of his throat before it went too far down.
I contacted Catherine and asked her for some hints about the KaChewkee and this is what she said:
Hints – for those furry friends who chew "everything".
The KW allows you to have a ritual where you can work on some basic commands and concepts with your pal.
When giving the KW ask for a "sit" while tying it up.
This is a great exercise for helping them anticipate something fun without jumping and going crazy.
Don't get them all hyped up with excitement. Have a calm demeanor and voice.
Let them see it and say "mine".
Present it (bring it down to their level – don't encourage jumping with holding it up for them to "snatch")
when they clamp onto it hold on for just a second.
Have eye contact and say "yours" upon release.
Let them take to where ever they are going to enjoy it and have their couple of minutes of fun
Keep an eye on them. When the crunching stops it's time to check how things are going.
Like with children – when things are too quiet it's time to go see what's going on.
Take the empty wrapper. Using the "give" or "drop it" command.
If you have a " snapper" put your foot on it and say "mine". Ask for sit. Pick it up.
All these little steps help with establishing the pack order.
Knowing you are top dog and what behavior you expect lets them feel safe and calm.
And of course no toy is right for all dogs. But this "training-toy" is right for many dogs.
So, I agree that it's not for everyone. I'm a little afraid to trust Buddy with it. I don't think he realizes he's eating something he shouldn't be.
But it was great for Joey. He totally enjoyed it. It was a wonderful mind game for him.
I think this would be a great product for teaching your dog some "table manners" and giving them a puzzle to work out too.

Product Review: Shoo Tags, A New Way to Control Fleas
Shoo Tags
When I was contacted by Charlie from TheSafePetShop.com and asked if I would like to try a different kind of flea control on the Bloggy Doggies, I was intrigued. I only know of several ways to control fleas, and to tell you the truth, not much works on my dogs anymore. I quit using the once a month flea products like Advantage and Frontline because of the poor results. They work for awhile but then become ineffective. I figure the fleas must be getting immune to these products.
Anyway, Charlie explained about Shoo Tags. These are little tags that look like mini credit cards and hang from the dog's collar. They are non-toxic. Apparently they work by using electromagnetic frequencies to create a protective barrier that lasts for about 4 months. There are no chemicals which I love. I always felt uneasy about putting poison on my dogs.
Here's a picture of Shoo Tags:
Now I needed to test them to see if they actually worked. I was afraid it might be too early for flea season to give it a proper test. After talking to my vet, he said flea season has been in full force in our area since early March. My mother's dog was having horrible problems with them (and he was on one of those monthly meds) as were some of my neighbors with pets.
I have been checking daily on each of my 4 dogs and so far. not a single flea on any of them! They have not used them for a full 4 months yet but based on having the dogs using them for a month, I am totally sold on them! I will continue to buy these and TheSafePetShop.com has a permanent place in my bookmarks.
download Avenging Angelo Oh, they also have these for people too so if you have a camping trip planned this summer, it might be worth checking into. And they have them for horses
and Hellmaster full movie cats.
If you do decide to buy some Shoo Tags, please be sure to put CHARLIE in the coupon code so they know that I sent you.
Product Review-Best Bully Sticks

Best Bully Sticks
A few weeks ago a twitter friend asked if we would be interested in trying some bully sticks. Bully Sticks are dog chewies, like a rawhide stick. Here's a few pics of some of the type of bully sticks Best Bully Sticks carries:
These dog treats are easy to digest and they help clean your dog's teeth and reduce tartar. They are naturally low in fat and have no chemicals or preservatives.
We tried some of the straight ones and the doggies loved them! Now my dogs usually do like chewies but two of them are rather picky about the brand. All 4 devoured them and them came to me looking for more. They loved them!
Best Bully Sticks has lots of other cool products too including grooming products, cleaning products, dog carriers, dog bones, and other kinds of dogs treats. If you want to give your dog a special treat, this is the place to shop.
Harley's Chronic Skin Condition

Harley's Skin Problem and Finally a Solution
I have to admit, that I feel like I have been a bad doggy mom. We have had little Harley for several years now. It started out that I was just going to be watching her for several weeks for my ex's girlfriend. The girlfriend ended up in circumstances where she couldn't care for Harley and so Harley became part of our family.
download Bulletproof Monk
From the start Harley was a very sweet, timid little Cocker Spaniel. She immediatley bonded with me and became my constant shadow. She seemed pretty healthy despite being gravely injured a year prior. But she did have a chronic skin condition that despite several trips to the vet and several hundred dollars later, wasn't any better. I guess I should have kept trying with the vet to find a solution but I just couldn't afford it financially. I had 3 other dogs and 3 kids to support. So poor Harley just had to live with it. It didn't seem to bother her too much but her skin looked horrible. No one in the family wanted to scratch her. She had scalely lesions all over her skin. It became so bad that the groomer didn't want to shave her. I was a groomer many moons ago but I knew I couldn't put a razor on her skin either. Her hair got pretty long and a little matted around the lesions and I just felt horrible every time I looked at her.
I did try home remedies. I gave her fish oil capsules and olive oil and bathed her in medicated shampoos and even rubbed olive oil into her skin. Nothing helped.
A few months ago, I was contacted by someone from a pet supplement nutritional company called Casey Pets. They wanted to know if I'd be interested in having the Bloggy Doggies try their signature product
Essential Supplement. Of course, we were game for it.
At first, I decided that I would sprinkle it on the communal dog food bowl so all the dogs could benefit. I wondered if they would even like it. They did like it but I realized that the small bottle I had would go very fast if I gave it to all of them. Harley was the one I wanted to concentrate on. So after several days, I just gave it to her. I sprinkled a teaspoon or so on a slice of American cheese and gave it to her once or twice a day. I have to admit there were several days I forgot about giving it to her.
Harley finished off the bottle in about a month. And I'm happy to say her skin cleared up enough that I was able to groom her this past weekend. There were still a few scalely spots but I expect those to disappear with continued use of the Essential Supplement. I'd say her skin condition improved about 85%. I am just so thrilled that we finally found something that works!
Here is a before picture when her hair was really long. Of course the hair is covering the skin condition but believe me, it was bad.
And here she is now:
She looks much better now doesn't she? Oh, by the way the Essential Supplement from Casey Petraceuticals is good for alot more than just skin. You can read about all that it does here: CaseyPet.com . They also have an anti-inflammatory lotion too.
Oh, and in case anyone is wondering; I didn't get paid for this review, nor am I an affiliate. All I got out of it was a free bottle of the product…..and a healthier dog. I have already ordered another bottle.
